BIRRUS MATTING SYSTEMS
Shoes can carry dirt and grit deep within the grooves of the sole. If your matting system doesn’t effectively remove this then it’s only doing half the job. Birrus COCAMAT features a stepped profile which gets into those grooves to remove dirt and moisture to protect your internal flooring from avoidable scratching and wear.
BIRRUS ‘COCAMAT’ (closed construction ONLY) incorporates our ribbed aluminium extrusion and NATURAL OR DYED BLACK COIR inserts creating an efficient cleaning action due to the STEPPED profile.
The raised coir acts like an upside down broom on the soles of shoes. The coir fibres stand 10mm above the aluminium treads (as shown above) and penetrate the crevice of shoe soles, removing loose dirt and moisture.
Consideration must be given to height of ‘COCAMAT’ to ensure hinged doors have sufficient clearance. It’s critical that there is at least a 10mm clearance if a door is to pass over the mat. Coir absorbs water and expands then shrinks once dry best suited for indoor purposes.
This Birrus product is the most effective cleaning mechanism for cleaning shoes. Fibre Height 10mm Above aluminium treads.
Anodising of the aluminium sections in ‘Precious Gold’, ‘Antique Bronze’ and ‘Midnight Black’ can be arranged. CLICK for a copy of our Grand Entrance brochure.
Note: Anodising is a coating which will, in time, wear with surface contact. Refer to specification form for more details.
Slip resistance is a very important part of product selection, particularly in an area which could be exposed to rain water and wet shoes. To aid in this selection Birrus has had their range of products wet slip tested by a NATA accredited test company. The resulting certificate for Cocamat is available HERE.
